Posters

The collection contains posters primarily from the period from the end of the 19th century up to the present originating in particular from the Přerov region that is the town of Přerov and the district of Přerov as well as the immediate surroundings which are neighbouring districts.

Items in the collection

Posters of events of the Comenius Museum in Přerov are also represented along with posters of social, political, cultural and sports events in the region from the 1920s up to the present from Přerov printing presses, advertising and cultural promotion posters of a state-wide extent, political posters (elections, propaganda, etc.), announcements and posters with calendars. It also consists of, for example, a collection of advertising posters from the first half of the 20th century, agitation and propaganda poster art from the turn of the 1950s and theatre posters by the Přerov artist Miloš Sum.

As of December 2015, the collection contained 9,472 recorded items. The collection continues to be expanded through directed collecting of posters documenting the presentation activities of the Comenius Museum in Přerov and posters from selected events in the region.

The collection is administered by Mgr. Šárka Krákorová-Pajůrková (Social Sciences Department).
