The collection contains photographs from the period of the end of the 19th century up to the present, primarily originating in the Přerov region, that is the town of Přerov and the district of Přerov as well as the immediate surroundings which are actually part of the neighbouring districts. There are also film recordings of certain events and places in Přerov of the 20th century.

Items in the collection

Photography documenting the construction development of the town of Přerov are represented as well along with, to a smaller extent, other places in the region as well as social, cultural, political and business events, activities, institutions and associations in both the town and the district. To a smaller degree it contains pictures from events of state-wide importance.

As of December 2015, the collection contained 21,758 recorded items (registration numbers) in all. The collection is also expanded by an organised group of photographs of no longer existing parts and structures of the town, important events as well as activities of institutions and associations.

The collection is administered by Mgr. Šárka Krákorová-Pajůrková (Social Sciences Department).
