Numismatics

The collection began to emerge immediately after the establishment of the Town Museum in Přerov in the year 1902, initially as a reaction to the national ethnographic exhibition in Přerov in the year 1893.

It was added to in an unsystematic manner, particularly through gifts and in occasional cases through findings from archaeological digs in the Přerov region.

The collection consists of collectible items originating from the period stretching from 200 B.C up to the 20th century. The classical period is represented by a smaller collection. The vast majority of the coins were originally minted in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Předměty sbírky

The core collection consists of coins which were in circulation within the territory of Europe, and to a lesser degree within the territory of America, Africa, Australia and Asia.
