This fairly significant collection area came about through unsystematic collecting as of the founding of the Town Museum in Přerov in the year 1902.

The particular items included into the collections originate from the period of the 19th - 20th centuries. The greatest part come from the territory of Moravia, with significant numbers coming from the region of Přerov as well.

Items in the collection

The collection primarily consists of various types of scales: kitchen, letter, decimal as well as balances and dynamometers. Instruments for measuring volume such as wooden or metal measuring devices for grain or other granary material are a significant part. The collections also contain weights.

The baking scale from the 1930s or the sets brass bowl weights rank among the interesting particular findings. 106 recorded collectible items (registration numbers) are in the collection.

The collection is administered by Mgr. Petr Sehnálek (Social Sciences Department).
