Applied art, artistic industry, artistic crafts and folk production

The collection consists of items, originating from the period from the 17th century up to the present, with the largest number being represented by the 19th and the first half of the 20th century.

The territorial expanse of the collections consists of Central Europe with an emphasis on Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia and western Slovakia. Items from Germany, France, Italy, England, the Balkans and occasionally from China or Japan are also included.

Items in the collection

The collection contains textiles (historical clothes and shoes, contemporary clothes and shoes, clothing accessories and period fashion jewellery, female and male underwear, association, military and police uniforms and parts of prison uniforms as well as flat and decorative textiles), ceramics (clay, faience, pottery and porcelain), glass and ethnographic items the character of which serve to map out the regions of Haná and Záhoří in particular (folk and town clothes, ethnographic items, for example painted Easter eggs, etc.)

Amongst the most significant collectible items are women's dresses from the period shortly after the year 1800, parts of women's clothing from the period after the year 1860, a man's coat from the 1880s and parts of folk costumes from the middle of the 19th century. Ceramics of interest include examples of brand name ceramics and porcelain from renowned Czech companies (Slavkov, Vranov, Dubí, Březová, Stará Role, Olomučany, etc.). Also of value are items originating from factories in Vienna and Meissen.

The overall collection contains 5,787 recorded numbers.
